50 minutes into the wait, the news was announced with great anticipation that our lecturer somehow missed out on his/her (bearing in mind this one is still faceless, sexless to us at this juncture) class due to a timetable mix-up --- yeah fuckin' right, I say "Whatever".
It just made so much more perfect sense to revive or to relive the amazing experience we had over the weekend --- on the 3rd April 2009 --- at "our" usual hangout where songs flow seemlessly in accordance to our control of the remote. Boat Quay anyone? You bet.
J1 sprouted out that we should all head out to Archipelago earlier in the noon during half-time --- a usual practice we adore, a behaviour hated by our previous lecturers. So why the fuck not? It is not as if we were not going to hit the books when it was time to do so. K made a promise though that this semester was going to be a different scenario --- no playing skipperoos this time around. Oh well, promises are meant to be broken, ain't it so?
Can someone repeat this after me --- Solid:Sessions?
Damn right it was going to be an amazing night as we headed out in 3 cars and 1 motorbike. The party is just expanding with every breath we take...and step that is. Boat Quay : This venue brings back nostalgia each and every time I stroll along the streets. Lots of events have come and go while the memories build up each and every time.
Driving a GTI and I was the last to arrive as I lost my way with G as my passenger --- yeah that's right, have a good laugh! Too lazy to circle around the block like a crazy dog chasing its tail, I decided to venture out into a so-called safe haven --- the underground sheltered parking lot underneath the secured UOB building.
As always, K was there waiting for me as I held a conversation with G about how cheap he was able to rent an automobile in Singapore for --- $ 40 SGD nett per day. Talk about being resourceful. I was rather pleased as G complimented on how smooth my DSG gearbox was and the power was linearly pleasant. Bearing in mind that this was the first time G was riding with me in my Snow White.
We then proceeded up to a 2nd-storey hangout, a place resembling District Bar which J1 used to own with a couple of partners. Now defunct and sold off, we all have had great memories over there --- Christmas 2008, NYE 2008 and lots more. It was a chillout place I frequent apart from the usual Club Infinitude.
2 Jugs of Hoegardens and all of us proceeded to toasting to a night's out without the guilt of leaving our lecture at halftime. As always, I am in need to open up my voice with a mic on enhanced speakers. Requested for J1 to pick out a medley containing short versions of assorted famed Mandarin hits --- best bang for the buck, especially if one table is limited to 2 songs per session in order to maintain fairness.
Mansion : The Rising Tides, Waves of Synergy
One drink too much seems like an impossibility on this fateful night. The instant gratification we have gotten from the absence of our lecturer has deepened our roots --- drinking roots that is. No matter how grounded human beings are, there are instances where we implode ourselves with alcoholic substances just to reach out to a higher state of consciousness. Normality is just like still water --- peaceful & tranquil, boring if you will.
J1 kickstarted yet another round by 2 more jugs of Hoegarden --- a brand that J2 embraces wholeheartedly. It is affirmative that Hoegarden jumpstarts J2's spirits like an accelerating 911. Not particularly fond of beer-drinking, I found myself downing glass after glass just to cool down from the overheating temperature on a typical tropical night.
